Plagiarism Checker: See Matches and Their Sources

Find out in seconds how much of your text already exists online. Every sentence is compared with published content, and you see the matching passages with links to their sources, so you know whether your text is original before you submit or publish it.

Check your text for plagiarism

We do not store your text: it goes to the checking engine only during the check, and the emailed report carries the result and sources. We also send tips to improve your store, and you can unsubscribe with one click. 50 to 500 words, three free checks per day.

How does the plagiarism checker work?

The checker splits your text into sentences and searches for each one in content published online. When a sentence matches or closely resembles a published text, it is counted as a match and its source link is kept. The final percentage is the share of matching sentences out of all sentences in your text.

The comparison covers content indexed by search engines, so a page published or edited a few days ago may not appear yet, and neither will papers or files that are not online.

How do you read the report?

The circle shows the plagiarism percentage: sentences that have a match online. Below it you see the original share, then your own text with the matching sentences highlighted in red, followed by the list of sources with their links and matching passages.

Not every match is a problem. A quotation in quotation marks with its source cited is normal; a full paragraph copied without citation is what you should rewrite.

TermMeaning
QuotationReproducing someone else's words faithfully and citing the source.
PlagiarismPresenting someone else's words or ideas as your own without citing them, word for word or lightly reworded.
ParaphrasingWriting the idea in your own words and structure while crediting its author.

Store owners: duplicate supplier descriptions

Most plagiarism in online stores is unintentional: a product description copied from the supplier's site or a competitor. Google sees the same text across dozens of stores and picks one version to show, and it is usually not yours.

Check your most important product descriptions here and rewrite any with a high match using your own experience and product data. To check whether a text was written by AI in the first place, use the AI detector.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check my text for plagiarism for free?

Paste your text into the checker above, enter your email and press Check plagiarism. Within seconds you see the percentage, the matching sentences and their sources. Every visitor gets three free checks per day, each up to 500 words.

What plagiarism percentage is acceptable?

There is no single rule. Each university or journal sets its own limit, and many accept around 15% to 25% as long as every quotation is cited. Always check the guidelines of your institution before you submit.

Can it detect text written by ChatGPT?

A plagiarism checker compares your text with content published online, and ChatGPT output is usually new text that matches no published source. To detect it, use the AI detector, which is built for that purpose.

Is it the same as Turnitin?

Turnitin also compares against private databases of student papers and closed journals that web tools cannot reach. Results can differ, so use this tool to review before submitting, not as a replacement for your institution's check.

Do you store the text I check?

No. The text is sent to the checking engine only for the duration of the check. The emailed report contains the percentage and the sources.

Does it support Arabic text?

Yes. It compares Arabic text with content published online and lists the matching sources with their links, just as it does for English.
